Brian Thompson is an American actor born in Ellensburg, Washington, and raised in Longview. He attended Central Washington University, where he studied business management, played football, and took part in numerous school productions. He later moved to California and earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine.

Thompson initially trained for a career in musical theater, performing in productions such as The King and I at Riverside Civic Light Opera and Bitter Sweet at Long Beach Civic Light Opera, among others. In 1982, he was a resident actor at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.

His film and television career began with a small role in The Terminator (1984), where he appeared alongside Bill Paxton as one of the punk thugs. He went on to appear in series such as Moonlighting, Street Hawk and Knight Rider, before securing a role in Cobra (1986) starring Sylvester Stallone.

Thompson later appeared in a wide range of television genres, including The X-Files, Alien Nation, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed and Chuck, alongside dozens of other film and TV appearances. In 1996, he played Brok in Dragonheart, serving as the commander of King Einon’s army.

He is also well known for his work in the Star Trek universe. He first appeared as Klingon officer Klag in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1989), later taking on multiple roles in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, appearing as Klingon again in Star Trek: Generations (1994), and portraying Admiral Valdore in Star Trek: Enterprise (2005).

Thompson returned to the big screen as the main antagonist Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

More recently, audiences could see him in the hit series Fallout, continuing his long-standing presence in genre storytelling.
