Christopher Judge is an American actor. He aspired to become an actor from an early age and studied drama in high school. In 1989, he began training at the Howard Fine Acting Studio in Los Angeles.
His early roles in the 1990s included an appearance on MACGYVER alongside future co-star Richard Dean Anderson. In the following years, Judge had small roles in various television shows and films such as 21 JUMP STREET, THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR, and HOUSE PARTY 2.
Judge’s most prominent role came in 1997, when he was cast as Teal’c in the Canadian American military science fiction television series STARGATE SG-1 (1997–2007). He reprised the role in STARGATE: THE ARK OF TRUTH, STARGATE: CONTINUUM, and STARGATE: ATLANTIS.
His subsequent work includes guest appearances on ANDROMEDA and THE MENTALIST. He also appeared as one of Bane’s henchmen in the 2012 film THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
On June 14, 2016, Judge confirmed that he would voice Kratos in the 2018 video game GOD OF WAR. He reprised the role in GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK.
Judge received critical acclaim for his performance as Kratos. On February 13, 2019, at the 22nd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, he accepted the award for Outstanding Achievement in Character for his role in GOD OF WAR (2018). He won the same award again during the 26th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards in 2023 for his performance in GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK. Additionally, in 2022, he won Best Performance at THE GAME AWARDS 2022 for GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK.
