Comic-Con Junior
Comic-Con Junior and Comic-Con Prague are organized by Comic-Con Prague s.r.o. and Active Radio a.s.Comic-Con Prague is a symbiosis of western style con with star guests and companies together with eastern European style fan based con. The best of both worlds, that's Comic-Con Prague.
In addition, Comic-Con Junior is expanded with a fun, creative and physical programme for children and young people.
Comic-Con Junior is built on real foundations, years of experience and a serious approach.
Comic-Con Prague s.r.o.
For the purpose of organizing Comic-Con Prague and Comic-Con Junior, the company Comic-Con Prague s.r.o. was founded by Václav Pravda, organizer of large pop culture festivals and chairman of FFestivalyz.s. This non-profit association of fans, which is also involved in the organization of Comic-Con Prague and Comic-Con Junior, is behind the organization of dozens of cons - Festival Fantazie (attendance up to 15.000 fans, in 2022 took place in Chotěboř 27. The first edition of the festival was held in Chotototero in 2014), PragoFFest (attendance up to 8. 000 fans, the last tenth edition took place in 2019), FF Special - FanCity (attendance in Prague up to 6.000 fans, now only a small con in Chotěbor) and GameFFest (gaming part of all the above festivals).The Fantazie Festival is organized by fans for fans and in some parameters it is world leading. The ten-day program of this literally fantastic holiday at the beginning of the summer holidays includes around 1500 shows, including dozens of tournaments and 50 movies in the cinema.
Václav Pravda headed the Hewlett-Packard Education Centre for several years. First in this activity and then full-time he organized the Fantasy Festivals and others. He has more than 70 successful events to his credit. In recent years, in addition to organizing them, he also runs the Fantazie Hotel in Chotěbor. At Comic-Con Prague and Comic-Con Junior he is in charge of the programme and organisation together with SFK Avalon o.s.
Active Radio a.s.
Active Radio is the most important player on the Czech radio market. It operates Frekvence 1, Evropa 2, Bonton and Dance radios. For more than a decade it has been intensively developing internet activities such as Youradio, the largest digital music service in the Czech Republic, or Youradio Talk, a news, information and multimedia project. The individual brands are also very strong on social media, where, for example, Europe 2 now has more than one million fans. In addition to the activities mentioned above, Active Radio's portfolio also includes the multimedia project Pigy.
The event division No Limits is part of the Active family. The latter produces various concerts of foreign and domestic artists (e.g. Gipsy Kings, Modern Talking, Leoš Mareš, etc.), festivals such as Frekvence 1's Parade Fest or Europe 2 on Tour, large outdoor events such as Rádio srdcem for Život dětem or Den na maXXimum, and, for example, the Europe 2 Music Awards. The No Limits portfolio can also include tailor-made events and activities for clients, such as various radio road shows, special competitions linked to events and many other activities.
Active Radio a.s. is a multimedia group, which since 2018 belongs to the holding company Czech Media Invest. Along with Active Group, the Czech Republic is also part of this multinational company, which includes the media division of the Czech News Center group (e.g. Blesk, AHA!, Sport, iSport.cz, etc.), the book market leader EUROMEDIA GROUP, a.s. and the Czech Print Center printing company. The parent company EPH co-owns the internet television Mall TV.
