John de Lancie is an American actor, director, producer, musician and sailor. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

De Lancie played Eugene Bradford on the NBC soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES from 1982 to 1986. in 1988 was assassin Matthew Drake in the premiere episode of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE revival series. He had a recurring role as NID Colonel Frank Simmons on STARGATE-SG1. He has also appeared as Beka Valentine's Uncle Sid in ANDROMEDA.

He has appeared in additional numerous television shows including MACGYVER, CHARMED, THE WEST WING, BATTLESTER GALACTICA (1978). He also appeared as Donald Margolis in AMC's BREAKING BAD.

De Lancie is best known as the iconic all-powerful Q in STAR TREK franchise. He also holds the distinction of being one of the few characters to appear in five separate shows in the franchise. De Lancie made a return to Star Trek franchise as main character, with second seasons of PICARD.

He is well known for his voice roles in games and animation series as well. Besides Star Trek franchise, he provided the voice of the character Alarak in games STARCRAFT II and HEROES OF THE STORM, Antonio Malochio in the game INTERSTATE '76, as the angel Trias in the video game PLANETSCAPE: TORMENT and as Dr. Death in OUTLAWS. He is voice Discord in animated series MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.
